The Sarah
Mynhier Book Drive

Sarah
Mynhier is an alum
of LFHS who has made literacy her passion. For the past two
years she has led a program to collect and distribute books for
children in neighboring communities - distributing more than 4,000
books to Oak Terrace School in Highwood, North School in North
Chicago, Women's Residential, A Safe Place and the Big Brothers and
Big Sisters organization. This year the Volunteer Center has
taken over the management of the book drive to continue to promote
literacy.
Books
are being collected in cooperation with School District 67 during
the week of October 29th through November 9th at the local
schools. Books can also be dropped off anytime at the
Volunteer Center, where we will continue the program year-round.
Please consider donating new or gently used children's books and
thank you for sharing your love of reading with children in
need. Contact the Volunteer Center for more information at
(847) 234-8876.
